Triple-Color Melamine Tableware Molding Machine
The HCMT triple-color melamine tableware molding machine adds a third-color molding function to the HCM dual-color platform, using one lower female mold with three upper male molds mounted on the overhead mold-shifting mechanism.
During production, the three upper male molds move into the pressing center in sequence: the first male mold forms the base color, the second male mold forms the intermediate color, and the third male mold completes the appearance color.
HCMT triple-color molding advantages
- The third upper male mold extends the HCM dual-color platform into a three-stage molding process while retaining hydraulic pressure, platen heating, degassing and holding-pressure control.
- The base, intermediate and appearance colors are formed in sequence, giving tableware manufacturers more freedom to develop coordinated product collections.
- The lower female mold stays at the pressing position while each upper male mold moves into the center, keeping the product and mold sequence within one press system.
- Suitable one-color or two-color products can also be reviewed when the mold and production program are matched.
Machine Functions and Molding Control
HCMT uses one lower female mold at the pressing position and three upper male molds on the overhead mold-shifting mechanism. After the matching material is loaded, the first male mold forms the base color, the second male mold forms the intermediate color, and the third male mold completes the appearance color. Each stage coordinates mold positioning, hydraulic pressing, heating, degassing and holding pressure so the three colors join according to the product and mold design.
The lower female mold remains at the pressing position and provides the common product cavity for all three molding stages.
The overhead mold-shifting mechanism moves the first, second and third male molds into the pressing center in the programmed order.
Platen temperature, venting strokes and holding time are set for the thermoset material and mold so each color stage cures and joins correctly.
The selected control system manages pressure, temperature, time, alarms and mold-shifting actions, giving operators a clear sequence for the three molding stages.

How the HCMT Triple-Color Melamine Molding Process Works
The HCMT keeps one lower female mold at the pressing position while three upper male molds move into the center in a controlled sequence. Each upper mold forms one part of the color structure, allowing the product to remain in the same lower cavity through all three stages.
After the first melamine powder charge is placed, the first male mold forms the base-color layer. Pressure, platen temperature, degassing and holding time are set so the layer keeps the shape needed for the following stage.
The second material charge and second male mold form the intermediate color. Mold geometry, powder position and material weight determine where this color appears and how it meets the base layer.
The third male mold forms the appearance color and final surface geometry. The last heating and pressure-holding stage completes the visible product shape before mold opening and demolding.
All three stages depend on accurate upper-mold positioning, matched material weight, platen heating, hydraulic pressure, degassing and holding pressure. The final color geometry is created by the lower female mold, the three upper male molds, the product design and the programmed molding sequence.
HCMT Triple-Color vs. HCM Dual-Color
HCM and HCMT share the same four tonnage levels and core hydraulic molding controls. HCMT adds a third upper male mold, a third material-loading stage and the additional mold-shifting travel required to form base, intermediate and appearance colors in sequence.
| Selection point | HCM dual-color machine | HCMT triple-color machine |
|---|---|---|
| Upper male molds | Two upper male molds | Three upper male molds |
| Molding stages | Two sequential pressing stages | Three sequential pressing stages |
| Typical color structure | Two-color tableware and defined dual-color boundaries | Base, intermediate and appearance colors formed in three stages |
| Selection focus | Tonnage, platen, daylight, mold weight, cavities, heating and output | The same checks plus third-mold size, weight, position and shifting travel |
Mold, Material and Three-Stage Molding Control
Triple-color molding requires the machine, all four mold components and the three material charges to be reviewed as one production system. Han Chang matches the press and mold-shifting configuration to the product drawing so the three color layers can be formed without losing the required boundary, surface or demolding space.
The lower cavity and all three upper molds must share the correct center, fit and travel. Their geometry determines the product profile, color boundary and available space for every material charge.
Material type, preheating condition, charge weight and placement are defined for each stage. These factors affect short fill, color shift, flash and the way adjacent layers meet.
Each stage needs a suitable temperature, venting stroke and holding time. The first and second layers must retain their geometry while remaining compatible with the next material and pressing stage.
Cavity count, product depth, wall and bottom thickness, rim design and demolding method determine platen area, daylight, mold weight and operator access.
- Color-boundary shift: check upper-mold position, material placement and charge weight.
- Air marks or incomplete filling: check powder condition, preheating, venting and mold air paths.
- Flash or uneven surface: check mold fit, pressure, material weight, platen temperature and holding time.
- Demolding deformation: check product depth, cure condition, opening height and removal method.

Triple-Color Melamine Molding Machine FAQ
How does the HCMT triple-color molding process work?
HCMT keeps one lower female mold at the pressing position while three upper male molds move into the center in sequence. With the matching melamine powder loaded for each stage, the first male mold forms the base color, the second forms the intermediate color, and the third completes the appearance color under controlled heating, degassing and holding pressure.
What is the difference between HCMT and the HCM dual-color machine?
HCMT follows the HCM hydraulic molding concept but adds a third upper male mold, a third material-loading stage and the required mold-shifting travel. HCM forms two color stages, while HCMT forms base, intermediate and appearance colors in three stages.
Why does HCMT use one female mold and three male molds?
The lower female mold keeps the product in one cavity through all three HCMT stages. Each upper male mold creates the geometry required for one color layer, helping the mold set maintain product position while the color structure is built in sequence.
How are the base, intermediate and appearance colors formed?
The lower female mold, the geometry of each upper male mold, melamine powder placement and charge weight define the three color areas. Heating, hydraulic pressure, degassing and holding time are matched so each layer retains its shape and joins the following stage.
Which products are suitable for an HCMT machine?
HCMT can be evaluated for triple-color melamine bowls, plates, cups and trays, including designs with an intermediate rim or layered color structure. Product depth, wall thickness, color boundary, cavity count and demolding method must match the selected mold and press.
What determines the accuracy of the three-color boundary?
HCMT color boundaries depend on female/male mold fit, upper-mold positioning, material placement, charge weight, preheating condition and pressure settings. These factors are reviewed together to control color shift, short fill, flash and uneven joining lines.
How should HCMT-150, HCMT-200, HCMT-300 or HCMT-400 be selected?
Han Chang matches HCMT tonnage to product size, platen area, daylight, lower and upper mold dimensions and weights, cavity count, heating capacity and target output. Larger or heavier molds may require more platen space, opening height and handling clearance in addition to pressing force.
How does a high-frequency preheater work with HCMT?
A high-frequency preheater can prepare a measured melamine powder charge before it enters the HCMT mold. Preheating power, batch weight and transfer time are matched to the three-stage loading sequence so powder condition supports filling, venting and surface finish.
What should be checked when color shift, air marks or flash appear?
For HCMT color shift, check upper-mold position, powder placement and charge weight. For air marks or short fill, review preheating, degassing and mold air paths; for flash or uneven surfaces, review mold fit, material weight, platen temperature, pressure and holding time.
Can HCMT make one-color or two-color products?
Suitable one-color or two-color melamine products can be reviewed on an HCMT machine when the mold set, material-loading sequence and control program are matched. Han Chang confirms the required upper mold, movement and operating program for the intended product.
What information is needed for an HCMT quotation?
Please send the product drawing or sample, marked base/intermediate/appearance colors, lower female mold and three upper male mold data, cavity count, material weight for each stage, preheating and demolding method, daily output, voltage, factory space and export destination.
What installation, service and export support is available?
Han Chang can support HCMT installation confirmation, operation guidance, online machine-status diagnosis and replacement-part coordination through Taiwan and Mainland China service teams. CE certification, safety items and export documents can be prepared for the selected project configuration and destination.
