An operator manually loads a measured charge into the upper pot. The mold closes before the upper hydraulic cylinder drives the plunger, pressing compound through runners and gates into the cavities for heat curing. Transfer-grade phenolic (PF\/Bakelite) and urea-formaldehyde (UF) compounds are the core material choices for electrical-insulation applications. For phenolic insert molding, terminals, bushings or nuts are located before closure so the compound can fill around them. Inserts are optional; insert-free parts use the same closed-mold transfer process.<\/p>\n<p>When selecting a large Bakelite transfer molding press, connect mold footprint and closed height with total charge, runner layout and working access.
